PorchSitter, Noble Johnson!

Noble Porchsitter, your local Know'it'all of Etowah & Horse Shoe North Carolina

In Appalachia, there’s a certain creature as mythical as Bigfoot but far more prevalent: The PorchSitter; a man or woman, usually elder and wizened, whom occupy the days with observation, tea sippin’, and gossip about the area. They have more knowledge than all the book learnin’ combined!

🪑 The Noble Porchsitter: Your Local Expert in Horse Shoe

In every great Southern town, there’s someone who knows what’s really going on — the unsung historian, the calm observer, the first to say “bless your heart” and the last to miss a sunrise. In Etowah, NC, we call that person the Noble Porchsitter.

👀 What’s a Porchsitter?

The Noble Porchsitter is:

  • A community voice with both wit and wisdom
  • A watcher of weather, walkers, wildlife, and well pumps
  • A collector of stories — some true, some “true enough”
  • A source of hyper-local commentary, gentle gossip, and front-porch philosophy

📣 Why You Should Tune In

Expect musings about:

  • Who’s fixing what on Old Hendersonville Highway
  • What the buzz is at the post office
  • Why the birds are acting weird
  • And which biscuits are worth writing home about

All delivered with humor, heart, and a healthy dose of hometown pride.
